Top Ten Tuesday- Ten Science Fiction Books I Recently Added to My TBR

TopTen Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun meme that was created over at The Broke and the Bookish! This weeks topic is 10 Books From X Genre That I’ve Recently Added To My TBR List! I never used to be in to science fiction but Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel was a game changer for me! I have recently gotten in to the genre, so there are so many books that I have to read! If you have any suggestions that you don’t see on this list please let me know!

  1. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams–  I know this is a must read! One of my best friends has a tattoo based on this book! I need to read this as soon as possible!
  2. Illuminae (and Gemina) by Jamie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff– I own both of these and I have heard nothing but good things! They are on my summer TBR so I will get to them really soon!hgjfgjfg.jpg
  3. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick– I have been hearing about this book for years but I wrote it off because I didn’t think I was in to SciFi.  Now that I am all about SciFi I know I will probably love this!
  4. The Time Machine by H.G. Wells– This is a classic! I want to read more classics and more science fiction! This is necessary!fefsdfsd.jpg
  5. The Diabolic (The Diabolic #1) by S.J. Kincaid– I want to read more young adult science fiction! This one has great reviews and sounds amazing!
  6. Defy the Stars (Constellation #1) by Claudia Gray– This is a recent young adult science fiction release! It has amazing reviews on goodreads!hgfhgfhfg.jpg
  7. Across the Universe (Across the Universe #1) by Beth Revis– I have being hearing about this book for years! There are some mixed reviews but I am curious to see what I will think of this series!
  8. These Broken Stars (Starbound #1) by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner– This is another young adult book! The cover is amazing and I am very intrigued!rewrwerwe
  9. The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave #1) by Rick Yancey– People seem to love the first book in this series but the reviews for the rest of the series are not so great! I am interested to see what I think!
  10. The Martian by Andy Weir– I saw and loved the movie! I have heard only amazing things about the book! This is very high on my TBR!

  1. Lots of good ones here! I’ve only read The 5th Wave from the series but am eager to continue. I think the not so good reviews for the rest of the books that you mentioned are what has been keeping me back. Illuminae is so good once you get used to the format. I still need to read the sequel though! Definitely read These Broken Stars!

  2. These are all such good books !! I personally love sci-fi but after a while you kind of read all of the good books??? But these all look amazing and I really want to read them (especially illuminae….) And I actually have read the Across the Universe trilogy and I really enjoyed it !! There were a couple things that kind of bothered me but overall I thought they were a good read

    1. Is it bad I hadn’t realized that it was SciFi? I’ve heard a lot about Pierce Brown but I never really looked in to what his books are about! Adding to my TBR on Goodreads asap! Thank you!

  3. SO MANY GREAT BOOKS on your list ❤
    Illuminae/Gemina are amazing reads!
The Starbound series is also great! Though book 3 is my favorite of the series!
The 5th Wave series is another one of my favorite series! I know a lot of people hated books 2 and 3 but I thought the whole series was a 5 star series and it owns a piece of my soul.
    Enjoy and happy reading!
Also Kristen … as mentioned above GIRL YOU HAVE TO TRY RED RISING! It is top 5 all time favorite series for me!!! SO GOOD!

  4. Most of these are on my TBR, too. The only one I’ve actually read is The Diabolic and I absolutely adored it! I flew through it. I bought Defy the Stars soon after it released and I’m hoping I’ll get to it soon because I’ve read and loved Claudia Gray in the past. Great choices!!

  5. Great list! I don’t really read a lot of science fiction, but I have been wanting to read Illuminae for some time now. Maybe that one would b MY game changer! I’ve also thought for years that Across the Universe sounds really interesting, but I still haven’t picked it up. I hope you enjoy all of these!

    1. I have avoided the genre for a long time but now it might be in my top 3 favourite genres? Never thought that would be the case! I hope you read and love Illuminae! ❤︎

  6. I just recently added Illuminae to my TBR as well! The only one on your list that I’ve read was The Martian, and I didn’t really enjoy it! The story was fine, but the writing style just didn’t really do it for me. I know I seem to be in a minority, though. 🙂

  7. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is hilarious. I read it literally YEARS ago. The Time Machine is also really cool. And I would recommend A Clockwork Orange as well. It’s more of a social commentary about forceful rehabilitation. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is also one of the best ones. Hope you enjoy.

  8. Wow I have such a similar reading list to yours! Illuminae and Gemina are fabulous, I loved them. I have heard similar things about The 5th Wave. I’ve read them all and definitely think the first one is my favorite. I haven’t read Defy the Stars yet so thank you for showing it to me!
