2018 Wrap Up!

I love reading other bloggers’ end of the year wrap-ups, especially if there are graphs! I thought I would try my hand at it this year. As of writing this, I have read 128 books in 2018, and I decided to break them down in to a variety of categories- just for fun!

I am pretty pleased with these results! I did not actively try to read more books written by female authors, but I am not surprised to see that I read so many. For whatever reason, I am more drawn to them!

I am not at all surprised to see that I have read so many contemporary novels, as they are what I tend to gravitate towards! I am sad that I have only read 11 historical fiction novels- it used to be my favourite genre. I am going to have to work on that in 2019! The 8 graphic novels are all Saga, and I am too scared to read the latest volume because I heard it is really sad! I am also thrilled with the number of non-fiction and SciFi/fantasy novels I have read this year!

I fell in love with audiobooks this year and it completely changed my reading life! I can not believe I listened to 48 audiobooks in 2018! I am also surprised I managed to read 19 ebooks, because it is not the format that I typically turn to.

I found a lot of new great authors this year! There were a few that I enjoyed so much that I read more than one of their books! I am surprised that I didn’t return to more books from authors I have read before! I might have to work on that next year!

2018 has been a great year, and a big part of that is because of all of you! Thank you for all of your support this year and I can not wait to see what 2019 brings!

  1. I love your graphs! And 128 books is incredible – good for you! I always seem to read more female authors too, without meaning to, but it makes me happy! Hope you have a lovely New Year! 😊

  2. I’m loving the visuals. The graphs work well with these wrap-ups cause it gives you a better concept of the numbers. One of things I plan to work on in the new year is to keep better track of the genres I read so I can chart it at the end of the year. Happy New Year!

  3. I just bought my first audiobook a few days ago and I am loving it. I think quite a big part of the books I read will be in the form of audiobook sin 2019!

  4. Ooh I definitely want to try this tracking idea this year! I wish Goodreads gave you precentage of genre and what not. Looks like a great year!

  5. I’m a sucker for graphs and charts and I love yours! I definitely see that a lot of bloggers read more female authors year by year, which is nice <3 Good luck for 2019, Kristin!
